Driver Statistics
The complete driver statistics for Terry Coates will
appear here at a future date. For now, here are the
highlights, which you can read about on the From the Showroom page.
1995 Central Division Champion
1995 Showcase Series Champion
- These crowns were earned despite starting the
season in June, missing the first three Central
Division events and the first Showcase Series
event.
1994 Central Division Champion
- This was a hard-fought battle that saw Coates sweep
the last five races of his season--four against the
tough Central Division Crowd--to come from behind in
the points.
3rd at 1994 Runoffs (tm)
- A last-lap spin trying for third place would have
resulted in a National Championship as the top three
drivers were disqualified for technical
irregularities.
1993 Showcase Series Champion
2nd at 1993 Runoffs (tm)
- This was the first National Championship event
Terry Coates entered. It was also the first time he had
ever been to the track (Road Atlanta) where the race
was held. Despite these limitations, he managed first
fastest during one of the practice days and qualified
seventh.
From 1993 to 1995, Coates
entered 31 National races,
earned 18 pole positions,
won 15 races,
scored 26 top-three finishes,
and set 10 track records.
This record was attained driving
A front-engined, front-wheel-drive sedan;
a mid-engined, rear-wheel-drive coupe;
and a front-engined, rear-wheel-drive
sedan.
